Rebranding - Grand Egyptian Museum

The grand Egyptian museum is the new architectural masterpiece on a 491.000 m2 site overlooking the pyramids of Giza will become one of the world's most important museum complexes and the largest archaeological museum in the world representing only one civilization, where will represent a chronological statement for the ancient history of Egypt over the past 7000 years, and it will accommodate eight million tourists annually.

المتحف المصري الكبير هو التحفة المعمارية الجديدة علي مساحة 491.000 متر مربع اللذي يطل علي اهرامات الجيزة، كما سيصبح احد اهم المجمعات المتحفية في العالم، واكبر متحف اثري في العالم يمثل حضارة واحدة فقط، حيث سيمثل عرضا زمنيا للتاريخ المصري القديم علي مدي السبعة اللاف سنة الماضية، كما انة سيستوعب نحو ثمانية ملايين سائح سنويا.

The problem started when the ministry of antiquities announced the visual identity of the Grand Egyptian Museum represented in the logo, The announcement followed by a wave of anger and ridicule on social media by Egyptians and graphic designers in which to express the unprofessionalism of the logo that doesn't express the GEM identity, from here is my turn where I loved to offer a solution for this problem, so I started to collect the information about the GEM.

المشكلة بدأت عند اعلان هيئة وزارة الاثار عن الهوية البصرية للمتحف المصري الكبير المتمثلة في الشعار ، صاحب هذا الاعلان موجة من الغضب والسخرية علي مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي يعبر فيها المصريين ومصممي الجرافيك عن استيائهم من الشعار الذي يبدو تقليدي وغير احترافي ولا يعبر عن هوية المتحف المصري الكبير ، من هنا جاء دوري حيث احببت ان اقدم حلا لهذة المشكلة ، فبدأت بجمع المعلومات عن المتحف.

After collecting all the available data about the architectural and interior design of the Grand Egyptian Museum, I found that the most thing able to express the GEM is the “Experience”, although there are many valuable artifacts of the three civilizations at GEM, but all these pieces are subject to change in the future and what will last is the experience of the visitor, Where the unique giant gate is the first thing the visitor will see, and then go to see many of the monuments ending in front of the three pyramids of Giza.

بعد جمع المعلومات المتوفرة عن التصميم المعماري والداخلي للمتحف المصري الكبير، وجدت ان افضل ما يمكن ان يمثل المتحف هي “التجربة”، بالرغم من وجود العديد من القطع الاثرية القيمة للحضارات الثلاثة داخل المتحف التي من الممكن ان تعبر عنة، لكن كل هذة القطع قابلة للتغيير في المستقبل وما سيدوم هي تجربة الزائر، حيث اول ما سيمر بة الزائر عند دخولة المتحف هي البوابة العملاقة الفريدة من نوعها، ثم سيذهب ليشاهد العديد من الاثار منتهيا امام اهرامات الجيزة الثلاث.
