What does a monster look like? - A Children's Book

Think of a monster.
Why is it a monster?
Monsters in mythology are demons, exceptionally ugly humans, often portrayed with dark skin large teeth, gigantic fat grotesque bodies. Terrifying to look at.
However, the feeling attributed to these beings are largely due to the visual they form. Why are monsters depicted with dark skin? Is the body of the monster submitting to a stereotype?
A rather concerning question arises when we indirectly equate these traits to undesirable and downright disgusting. It is also far more alarming when we see that from a young age, we have conditioned children to see this too.
The monsters we create in our imagination are often anything but some deep-set conditioning of how we view bodies and could possibly have deep rooted prejudices.

Through this project i decided to take a step back from this and looking at how our idea of monsters is taken from the known.
I learnt through this process to rethink the systems that we have been living in since childhood.

The target audience would be children aged 3-10 who are just growing up and their innocent minds are yet to be deeply shaped by societal norms and prejudiced conditioning. I wish for this book to be an instrument for a child to learn to have open minds and open imaginations to break away from the stereotypes they will be exposed to. To act as a foundation to a child for thinking with kindness and looking at individuals with equality and make sure that they question what is taught involuntarily.
