The photos were taken in Tikal, Guatemala in September of 2017. A trip which helped myself get in touch with my roots and my family while exploring the beautiful sights Guatemala has to offer. This trip was very personal to myself as this was my second trip to Guatemala but I got to experience a lot more than I did on my second trip, It brought me to the rainforest, the Mayan temples and to my family which am forever grateful for.
This trip was shared with my immediate family and family which I have over there in a small town of San Raymundo. Being in the town brought back a surge of emotions and memories I only had experienced as a child and had visited when I was only the age of 3. Being there, experiencing a culture so foreign to my own home in Canada was a culture shock and I wanted to learn more about my family and the town but much more than that as well. I wanted to know the history of my country, my own culture only shown and told to me by my family in Canada.
