This project is supposed to be Campground signs using Adobe Illustrator. The symbols within these signs are recognizable and familiar to anyone visiting the park and are made simply with shapes, lines, and other tools to refine the overall structures. These signs resemble unity, as they are equal in size, and represent different elements and sites that those would find and explore at a Campground including dining, hiking, places to make a fire, and a resting site.
Although the concept is centered around simplicity and familiarity, this project was the most difficult to work on, considering this was my first time using Illustrator. It was important to me that the symbols were perfect and aligned to get this simplistic idea across. My goal was to complete the project as successfully as possible. In order to achieve this, I paid careful attention to detail in the given instructions and ensured that the finished product appeared to be like the example. I believe that my finished product was successful. While I might see miniscule flaws within my work, I believe that any newcomer at a Campground would be pleased with my project and have no trouble in identifying each site.
This map features the different sites and locations at a Ski Resort called ‘Summit Snow Park’ and was created using Illustrator. Much like the Campground symbols, this map also includes identifiable symbols for sites at the resort such as a lift access, coffee shop, parking, and restrooms. There is a lot of attention to detail in this project including the trees, pond, paths, and the snowflake pattern ground. The key helps in better identifying these details so that any newcomer has an easy time finding each site.
During the execution of this map project, my main goal was to make it look as good as possible. I came across many adversities yet overcame them due to my developing sense of knowledge within the Illustrator program. I was luckily familiar with the program, considering it had many similar tools as Photoshop, as well as the fact that this was my second time using Illustrator. Because of this, the project was easier to accomplish. The finished product looks fantastic and I believe that I successfully completed this project as expected.
