Readbot Poster Project

UN- Poster Project

(UN-)* is a Poster Project with 15 *un-bound issues which will be printed monthly between March 2012 – April 2013. Each poster will be produced in collaboration with a different author and a designer from Turkey. There were 15 quotes from 15 Turkish authors in every poster, which designed by 15 different Turkish designers.

This Poster Project is designed and produced by the British Council to celebrate the attendance of Turkey as the Market Focus Country at the London Book Fair, 2013.

First Poster Draft (Turkish and English Pangram)

Second Poster Draft (15 books & 15 Posters as Icon)

ReadBot

When I start the project, I created a couple of draft ideas. The strongest one was the toy idea, which came from my book-shelf. Because I had as many toys as my books in my library (like many other designers) So I gave a book to one of them (the 3d book with cinema 4D) Toy was the real photo, book was the CGI.

Creativity comes from necessity

British Council  loved my toy idea and said that, "we can pay the license fee to MediCom" Medicom owns all right of the Bearbrick (rendered Be@rbrick)

I wrote a detailed email to Medicom and asked their permission. I offered a license fee to use their toy in our poster.  They did not accept our fee and did not allow to us use their toy in our poster as well.

So I created a new toy to use in our poster. As you know, necessity is the mother of invention, it is true, but its father is creativity.

I think our toy was more suitable than the previous one for our project. British Council also loved it more. We named it ReadBot, a toy that loves books so much in the mobil age.
The superhero whose strength comes from reading too much.
