JUKAC
Souvenir from Żywiec

This souvenir object is a ceramic gingerbread mold. It is inspired by two traditions from the town of Żywiec. The first is the New Year's custom to dress up as Jukac - characters with high hats and whips. The second is the tradition of baking gingerbread, for which Żywiec was once very famous. The result of the design is a stoneware mold in which you can imprint the shape of Jukac with the dough. It can be used both as a kitchen tool and interior decoration.

The project was carried out in cooperation with the Żywiec Development Foundation, which deals with the social activation of excluded people. The pupils of the Foundation can learn to make both ceramic forms and cakes. The sale of products is aimed at supporting the foundation.
