Unwanted is a short clip inspired by the introduction sequence of the film Wanted (2008). Meant to be a Visual Effects (VFX) demo clip, we wanted it to capture the mood and feel of the film - the over-the-top shooting abilities and the slightly quirky undertones - while setting it in a more localised context.
The design of the bullet was based off a sabot round used by modern tanks, with the fin stabilised central rod encased in a shell ejected upon exiting the barrel. We added a multi-stage component to the bullet as a homage to the original film, but also added a minature turbine to enable the bullet to reach extreme distances.
Visual effects and compositing was done in After Effects CS6, and the bullet was modelled in Maya 2012.
