Addendum to Estimate #1616 (RFP)

Natalie and Heather,

I am assembling a few examples and notes here that are relevant to the RFP. The estimate will be emailed, this page may be referenced in the estimate. I find Behance is a great tool to present our work in an easily accessible way. Clicking on any of the images will bring up the full res version or play the video.

We have worked with you previously on similar projects, although they were for still images rather than animation. A couple of my favorites from that project are in the grid below:

And here are some other images I feel represent a similar skillset to the task at hand. Exterior, with attention payed to lighting and details.
Studio inHaus has an animation reel, but it is rather dated and does not really demonstrate work that is relevant to this RFP. There are several variables that will decide how this animation gets made. One of them is the option to use custom people shot on greenscreen for delivering better production values and a more 'lifestyle' feel to the piece, rather than animated 3d people. We have access to the same stock 3d people as the other studios doubtless bidding on this project.
The four main characters in this video were shot in a one day greenscreen shoot in Chicago. The rest is all 3d, with the exception of the backgrounds in the drone shots. One caveat, the client asked that we tone down the realism of the building in the drone shots as it was getting lost in the frame.
These sequences were all rendered in CoronaRender. This provided the best quality.
The video below is an edit from a longer marketing video. Its also playing low-resolution as its the Behance media player....the original file is 4k and very sharp. I will put a link to the original version in the estimate.
We use the same tools for making animation as we do our still image renderings (3ds Max, Corona and Adobe Suite.
The clip below shows an alternate method of rendering. These were made in Unreal Engine 4. UE4 is a game engine and as such does not need any time to render, they are processed immediately. In a short piece (the RFP is for 30-45 seconds) this advantage is somewhat outweighed by the added work required to prep the scene and the loss in quality vs Corona.
The timeline for this project is really a decision for you to make. From receipt of the full design package I would ask for a minimum of 4 weeks, ideally 6, longer if the design is in flux. Other considerations for the schedule would be if we need to visit the site to collect photography and if the project requires a studio or on-location videography shoot.

A little about us!
Studio inHaus has a huge back-catalogue of work. We can also provide excellent references from our clients, including Holly Hunt, the Hilton, Thomas Pheasant, Johnson&Johnson, Silverstein, World Trade Center, Studio Gang and many more.
Should you wish to see some content not represented in our Behance page here, or on our website (www.studioinhaus.com) then please do not hesitate to ask and I will find it for you.

Studio inHaus is owned and operated by husband and wife team Thomas and Laarni  Livings. Tom has been working in the arch-viz field for 20 years and has a BA in Architecture. Laarni runs the company.  As such we are minority and women owned.

We have a small fulltime staff of 6, all located in Chicago. We are all currently working remotely. We also maintain a well established stable of freelance help for the specialist tasks that we do not keep in house. Our specialty is architectural rendering, but when those other jewels of work arrive from the car industry, pharma, aviation... well we love those too.

I am excited to hear of this RFP and sincerely hope we are selected to render our services,
thanks,
Tom and Laarni @ Studio inHaus.
