Beyond the Frame - Artist Intro
Martha Wirkijowski, Amanda Penecale and I were asked to create a new call for artists in partnership with the Phillips’ Mill Community Association. This project is ongoing and should complete its first exhibition in December 2021.
The Phillips’ Mill is looking to create a new platform that highlights artists via social media (primarily Instagram) as a fresh addition to their ongoing exhibitions and projects. This platform, which we are calling Beyond the Frame, will be an open call for artist video submissions. These artist videos are meant to be quick (1 minute or less), while presenting the artist in a way that is unique to them. The video is meant to be an artwork in itself.
We have created 3 samples based on our own work to show what we are looking for. The sample below is what I have created using my own portfolio.
