Background:

This is a project I did in my Design Fundamentals class during fall semester last year, we were challenged to draw a portrait completely on illustrator just based on a single image. This illustration was based on a picture I had taken of my 2-year old Australian Shepherd named Tobey. I've always found in his colored markings to be very interesting and beautiful and I wanted to make sure I captured that as well as how fluffy he is. I mostly used the pen tool to try and recreate the shapes of his markings and the wisps of his hair.
