Project: Editorial Illustration
Our assignment for Illustration class was to make an editorial illustration. This assignment was similar to the last one I did. We could choose from the few articles that were given to us, but I chose a different one that was not from the list, which was about space travel and how it's convenient for humanity.

First Experiments
Before I started on this project, I made sure to make a lot of sketches and concepts that revolves around my article of choice. The first few stages were purely focused on space itself rather than finding a balance between space and research. As you can see, I tried to experiment with both space and research, trying to place the two concepts into one illustration. Eventually I chose to go with the style of the scientist and changed the idea to the set sketch down below.
The Sketch

So after choosing this design I decided to add more stuff to the sketch after getting some feedback from my teacher and classmates. Since the article was about the research regarding space traveling, I decided to add a small retractable magnifying glass and played around with the cord that was coming out of their helmet. After that, I used the bit of feed back based on the draw-over of a classmate of mine and made the shape of the clouds more playful.

Finishing the Illustration
On the left is the clean sketch and the right is the line art. I used the stabilisator tool to get even and clean strokes for a decent line art.
On the left you can see the colored illustration before the feedback. As you can see, the illustration looks lineless because I colored the lines in accordance with the colors I used for the astronaut. On the right, you can see I lowered the opacity of the clouds so that the astronaut becomes the focal point.
Final Product
I made the entire illustration in Procreate and I edited the text in Photoshop because it is more comfortable. So after adding the text, this is the final product of my assignment! It was a pretty interesting assignment to do, in my opinion. I had a lot of fun making it!
