CHALLENGE: draw a visual response to an article/topic
I chose to respond to articles discussing the Federal Investigation of BYU for how they treat their LGBTQ+ students. Before attending Wichita State University, I was a student at Brigham Young University. I attended for 2.5 years and while I was there, I came out of the closet as Queer. This experience is the reason I gravitated towards this topic for the assignment. The case ended up being dismissed so this project became more emotional.
My final concept was "a wolf in sheep's clothing". Instead of a wolf, I made the predator a cougar (BYU's mascot). I also thought sheep were appropriate because I refer to myself as the "rainbow sheep of the family".
