Estaminé Studio is run by one guy, André Santos, but it speaks as a collective, always mentioning we and us, trying to reinforce the collaborative spirit of the studio. However, this time I will speak in the first person, because this is one of the most personal and intimate pieces developed so far.
step by step, side by side was created for my girlfriend, as my marriage proposal.
This is a sentence we use to write to each other (or "SbS, SbS", in its shorten form), and I decided to take advantage of its phonetic strenght, which is almost a play-on-words, to develop an ambigram, allowing this piece to be read from two different orientations. I used feathers as the ornamental element, based on the feather present in the proposal ring.
There is also an excerpt from Joaquim Pimentel's poem, "Só nós dois".
