Lexia Reading Core5 Brand Identity
As the development of the Core5 software product began to wind down, it was necessary to turn attention to the brand identity and how the product would be marketed. The challenge was to come up with a program logo and visual dialog that spoke as much to the administrators (primary decision-makers) and teachers as it would to the students/users.
Working closely with my team and key Marketing stakeholders, we began with tackling the logo. The logo was of primary importance as it would appear in the opening sequence and serve as the initial visual impression our target decision-making audience would be exposed to in much of the marketing and advertising materials. We went through many iterations of logo ideas keeping acutely aware of how the logo would be used from the intro animation sequence to printed and online marketing materials.
The result has been a highly successful and memorable logo that has consitently stood out against our competition. The logo has also played a pivotal role in informing many of the visual cues we used in the marketing and advertising materials.
Student Facing Materials
In addition to the pure marketing and sale materials, there was also the "soft marketing" materials that were student facing. This included Achievement posters, dynamically generated and printable Level Achievement Certificates, lanyards students got to wear when they completed a level, etc. These pieces were equally as important for motivating students as it was to making teachers advocates of the program above and beyond it's proven effectiveness.
