Multifunctional Center UNDERGROUND

Multifunctional center UNDERGROUND [student course work]
Location: Galechnaya Bay, Primorsky krai, Russia
The concept of the underground multifunctional center project is a non-standard solution to the existing urban situation: the center permeateы the top of the hill under the village square and faces the south side with a stained glass window overlooking the pine forest and the sea. With the help of terrain analysis, axes showing the main flow of pedestrian traffic were identified (1). In the direction of the largest flows (west, north, south), the entrance zones to the building are located. It was decided to make the zones of the western and northern streams in the form of high-altitude dominants for better perception due to large height differences. The western entrance has a connection with the park area (2); the northern one cuts into the steps of the stairs leading to the square (3). From the northwest, the square is protected from cold wind currents by a protruding hill. The club has 3 floors. For the convenience of all groups of visitors, the levels are connected via a through ramp. The building has a multifunctional significance: it houses an auditorium with 450 seats, a small cafe, art and music clubs.
