This studio will question the building typology – airports – as an urban hub, its validity, problems and potentials. The final goal of this studio is to reassess, rethink and redefine such architecture typology and urban paradigms, and speculate on a future that each designed airport will be. The studio also challenges one to design using a bottom up approach, using a modular system as the main structural strategy.
This project aims to create a art and cultural network from within the airport that aims not only to introduce visitors about the art and cultural scene in Yangon, but also to promote interaction between local and international artists, enhancing the art and culture community within Yangon for all to appreciate, while at the same time help to boost the economy of Yangon.

Currently, while there is an abundant of art and cultural facilities and activities within Yangon, not to mention famous local artists, these beauties are still often neglected both by the local and international scene due to the lack of coherence and connections between these existing cultural nodes and artists.
