In 2009 I illustrated article for The New Yorker entitled: "Veiled Threat.
What do the Iranian protests mean for the country's women?"
The article was about Negin: a woman artist from Tehran who was brutally beaten by police during a demonstration.
Almost fifteen years have passed and we are still there. Last Wednesday, Hadis Najafi, a 20-year-old woman was shot and killed by security forces during protests over Mahsa Amini's death.
"Whoever forgets his past is condemned to relive it" Primo Levi.
