Commissioned rebranding project

First to the Floor is a Boston Celtics podcast located in Sydney Australia. They publish recorded discussions about the Celtics and the NBA. First to The Floor puts a focus on fan culture and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with being a tragic sports fan. The goal is to be the listener’s “buddy” and favor therapeutic sports talk over cold analysis.

The podcast is rebranding from “Celtics Reddit Podcast” in order to appeal to a wider audience on different platforms while simultaneously detaching itself from Reddit.

Rebranding to “First to the Floor” is based on the notion that the Celtics have a defensive identity and have had players embody that tradition over the years, for example Kevin Garnett and Marcus Smart. First to the Floor plays up to the energy and grit the players like Garnett and Smart display by being the first to dive to recover a loose ball.

Project Goals & Solution

Create an identity that is bold, modern & clean sports aesthetic. Develop a cohesive visual identity that features a logo system that is responsive to all the various mediums it needs to be seen, defined color palette, typography and supporting visual assets for social media. Establish an identity that captivates more listeners and embodies the Celtic franchise & Celtic fan culture.
