The task was to think about possible future (10+) trends in industrial design. I had to analyze how exactly a trend appears and what influences its appearance. The presentation includes three trends with final moodboards and a selection of materials for each of them.

The first possible future trend is the fusion of two styles: natural and technological.
Over time, people are increasingly striving to stay at home, as now there are more and more opportunities to work, study, order groceries while sitting at home. Accordingly, a person may experience a lack of impressions that he experiences while walking along the street. It can be seen that already now natural ecological materials for furniture, green plants at home are gradually entering the mog.
At the same time, technologies are developing very actively in parallel. TV and phone screens are thickening to such an extent that they may soon completely merge with the space around us. And consequently, to multiply and connect with natural materials.

The second possible trend for the next 10+ years is transformation.
This direction is also due to the long stay of a person at home. Under such circumstances, there is a need to change something around you: buy new furniture, dishes, clothes.
This trend implies a change in the surfaces (color, material, texture) of surrounding objects.

And the last trend is focused on the human need for tactility. But in the future, in 20 years, this problem may have new solutions. For example, the virtual world could be completely tactile, or people would find a way to choose their tactile experience for the same surface.
