Secure network connectivity for data, voice and video
When deployed on a Cisco 4000 Series ISR, Gigabit Ethernet LAN Switch NIMs provide a fully integrated and highly secure network and converged IP communications solution. From a single platform with an integrated switch, you can connect IP phones, wireless access points, and IP-based video cameras to your network and power them over IEEE 802.3af (PoE) and 802.3at (PoE+). With optional Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express integration, the router can also handle call processing for phones. When users attempt to access the network, NIMs can use IEEE 802.1X to validate the end device's credentials and place the user on the appropriate VLAN.
