At the request of the Director General of Higher Education, Dr. Muhammad Nur, who has prior experience with this technology, created a reseach & manufacturing project to create electric buses. He assembled a team of researchers from ITS, UGM, UNAIR, and ISI Denpasar, and they worked with PT INKA.
According to Dr. Muhammad Nur Yuniarto, the main research coordinator, a challenging procedure is behind the acceleration of the BLiMP effort. He claimed that the research study was among the most challenging ones ever completed. Why so? He claims that a project like this should be completed in two years, but this one was only completed in eight months, not considering the two months it needed to complete the administrative process. In reality, the BLiMP took just six months to create, and the finished product had to be shipped to Bali to be used as a passenger transport vehicle at the G20 summit.
In the end, this book was produced as a means of documentation as well as a gesture of gratitude to all those who contributed to the development of electric buses in an improbable period of time while still generating goods that were worthy of being displayed at international conferences.
