Acorn Light System
Acorn is a sustainable lighting system concept that utilizes natural daylight. The flip side of each led-lit leaf, circle, or oval is covered with mirrors, which capture sunlight during the day and reflect it deeper into the room, increasing the amount of natural light indoors. At night, the mirrors can reflect a single ceiling-mounted light source, amplifying its brightness for a more sustainable lighting solution. Additionally, the products from the Acorn system can be used as regular lamps.

Like many children, I spent countless hours playing with light and mirrors when I was little, and that childhood memory inspired me to create Acorn. In today's world, energy conservation is becoming increasingly critical, which naturally provoked me to search for a way to bring additional light into our homes and workplaces without consuming more electricity. My goal was to find a natural and sustainable solution to this problem.
The research for Acorn focused on two main groups: people living in 20th-century homes where smaller windows limit the amount of natural light entering the space, and people living in contemporary homes with wider windows but deeper spaces, which can result in a dark interior. In both cases, a mix of artificial and natural light is often necessary during the day. This is not only unhealthy for the eyes and overall health, but also increases unnecessary electricity consumption.
The System
Acorn lighting system contains of a freestanding lamp, a table lamp, a wall-mounted lamp, and a ceiling lamp. Each Acorn product can be customized by creating different combinations of the three basic shapes of the shades - circle, oval, and leaf. Each shape comes in three different sizes, and the shade itself can be rotated around its axis for better adjustment and to capture the sun's rays. Depending on positioning the lamps can also function as backlit mirrors.
