I first found the look of Mafia Duck from a wallpaper that I saw online. I really liked the concept of a cute Duck in the Mafia and looked more into it. I then found many other images with different portrayals of the Duck like. This Mafia Duck is from twitter where the Duck is looking more innocent and traditional so the irony of this Duck being part of the Mafia is emphasised. I liked this conflict of concepts but wanted to expand more on the Duck picture from the wallpaper, whilst adding more accessories and personality. 

The sketch on the left was my initial sketch using the above ideas and also the idea of a Battle Duck from UEBS2 as shown on the right.

Then as I progressed into refined sketches Mafia Duck started taking shape as more of a formal looking Duck. As I created the final pieces  I developed more of a personality and backstory for Mafia Duck.

I started thinking about the different accessories that I could model for Mafia Duck. I liked the wallpaper image's trench coat, fedora and knife and I decided to enhance those with a cigar and tommy gun to strengthen the suggestion of connection to the prohibition Mafia.

I am currently working on creating the Duck model and will upload my progress here later.
