Product photography refers to a technique used to take a highly accurate, true to life photographs of a product or products. The photographs are subsequently uploaded to an E-commerce website, such as; Shopify, Squarespace, or any custom built website, or social media platform for retail purposes.
Nike football boots have always been a well sought after commodity and coveted by many from casual players to amateur footballers, all the way up to professional level in the highest rated clubs in the world. The boot designs are always unique and the product photography is beautifully consistent. Colours pop. Every detail is in perfect focus. These photographs must be flawless.
Replicating the style and feel of these photographs is no mean feat. They instil confidence in the customer that the product they are purchasing is unquestionably genuine, and what they see is what they get. Anything less and it looks like an imitation. This brings me to the photographs on the right. They were taken by myself, in a small studio space within the offices of Greaves on Gordon Street, Glasgow. The image shows the ‘Nike Phantom GT2 Elite AG’ football boot in full focus and accurate colours. Check them against Nike’s FG version of the same design and find a difference. (You won’t).
