GRAPEVINE GETAWAY

GRAPEVINE GETAWAY
'Idyllic Cabin Getaway'
Location: Willow Bridge Estate, Ferguson Valley, WA
Project Type: Hospitality
Unit Code: ARCT5536
Teaching Staff: Chaz Flint
This unit focuses on developing Photorealism skills using Autodesk’s 3D Studio Max, VRay, Forest Pack, and Photoshop Generative Fill. Students learn real-world lighting, HDRI setups, materials, effects, and 3D manipulation. The assignment involves detailed design and modeling of a 75m2 cabin, fully realized in 3D with the chosen client and location, mimicking the style of a selected architectural photographer in visualizations.
The client I chose was Willow Bridge Estate, a family-owned and highly regarded winery in Western Australia. They were seeking a sustainable cabin design for a tranquil vineyard retreat, focusing on enhancing the wine-tasting experience.
The left-to-right hierarchy includes welcoming outdoor areas, an open living space, transitional areas, and private spaces for optimal visitor comfort.
Grapevine Cabin prioritizes sustainability, featuring a rainwater collection system, a solar panel system, extended eaves for shade, and operable louvres for natural ventilation. Meticulously designed, it offers an eco-friendly and comfortable off-grid living experience.
