Greenville Drive Player Development Facility

Greenville Drive Player Development Facility
Greenville, South Carolina

Design Achievement
Tasked with designing the new player development facility at Fluor Field, DLR Group took on the challenge of creating experiential graphics and implementing the brand for this state-of-the-art venue. The Greenville Drive, a vibrant Minor League Baseball team based in Greenville, South Carolina, and affiliated with the Boston Red Sox, is a key player in the city’s sports and cultural scene. Competing in the Single-A South Atlantic League, the Drive serves as a platform for emerging talents ascending through the professional baseball ranks. Fluor Field at the West End, their home stadium, mirrors the iconic Fenway Park in Boston, featuring its own rendition of the “Green Monster” and fostering an inviting atmosphere. DLR Group’s final design for the player development facility strategically places the spotlight on the athletes who make Fluor Field their workplace and home throughout the season, emphasizing the team’s commitment to player development and fostering a strong sense of identity within the Greenville community.

Scope Summary
DLR Group meticulously crafted multiple large-scale environmental graphics within the facility, showcasing key players who have transitioned through its walls on their journey to the Major Leagues. As visitors explore the venue, they encounter a series of bespoke posters printed directly onto untreated plywood, adding an additional dimension to the Drive brand. The central focus is the gear display strategically placed in the main circulation area. This exhibit features the current season’s primary home and away uniforms, team-signed baseballs, custom-designed bats, and a prominent Greenville Drive logo, creating an ideal backdrop for memorable photo opportunities. DLR Group spearheaded the experiential graphic design services, ensuring a visually immersive and compelling environment that pays homage to the baseball legacy woven into the fabric of the facility.
