Noisia - Surfaceless (Visuals)

The audio-reactive form came from me playing around in Houdini. I recreated the drum pattern with some samples and had those drive the parameter values with CHOPs. I liked the way that the design drew out these parabolic, sacred geometry-esque curves.
The environment was composed using Quixel Megascans assets. I tried to make it feel a little more 'alive' by adding in decal details, rubble and concrete damage as well as assets such as pipes and emergency boxes. I initially wanted it to be a pale white underground space, hinting at the original album art, but decided to hide most of the lights and use the remaining ones to accent the subtle glitching sounds.
Rendered in ACES and graded using DaVinci Resolve.
