Deadly Venoms is an Arcade-style brawler influenced by 80s Kung Fu movies and Hip Hop.
Deadly Venoms is a personal project I started in 2014 together with my friend Dale. We've been working on it on and off, as we both do this in our spare time. I'd like to use this page as a preview of what we have been doing so far. This project page will be updated when we have more stuff to show!
Player Characters
For the player characters we tried to come up with a diverse bunch. You've got the confident and slightly annoying American dude, the no-nonsense hard-hitting black girl and the wise but slightly odd Asian master. Being fully aware of the stereotypes, we picked these on purpose as they all reference to eighties pop culture.

Enemies
As with the player characters the enemies are based on eighties movies. The zombies are actually 'zombified' ninjas, then there are the walking skeletons and of course punks! You definitely need punks when referencing the eighties.
We want each level should to have at least three unique enemies. We're working on more enemies and a unique attack/behaviour pattern for each one.
Screenshots
Every level has a different environment. Within each level we're aiming for a mix of two recognizable elements that don't often go together. The examples below are the Undead Dojo, combining the master's dojo with a supernatural horror atmosphere. Metro XX looks like a normal subway station, until the punks dwelling there start to mutate... The City Cemetery has the feel of an ancient cemetery even though it's located in the middle of a big city. You can see the skyline of skyscrapers in the background.
