New Zealand Brochure

I created this for a project in my college Intro to Graphic Design class, in which the students made brochures for any location of our choice. I chose New Zealand because Middle Earth. Every time I remember Bag End and Bilbo’s round green door actually exist somewhere in the world, my mind is blown and that’s the only place I want to be. At some point bubbles came to mind, just to break up the monotony of all photos being rectangular. It also provides interest to have the bubbles sprinkled throughout so it doesn’t look so structured. I thought I’d wrap the text around the bubbles, until my professor gave me the idea to put an icon in that space instead. My original idea was to focus more on the beaches and mountains, making the theme blue to match. Once I got started with my more fleshed out idea, that was not working out. Once I learned about the Color Theme Tool, this project quickly came together. The rest was only a matter of experimenting with the Color Theme Tool.
