INTERACTIVE - PERFORMANCE PROJECT -IMROZ INAM (YEAR-2)
PERSONAL CONNECTION AND INSPIRATION:
I am severely into psychology and reading a lot about THEORIES, and CASE STUDIES. A few months back while attending one of my psychology bachelors program classes, I read about the "Rorschach test", which looks like this: and was the inspiration for my Interactive final performance. These ink blot images, used in the Rorschach test, is a projective test. And in pop culture and movies, this test is often used in scenarios where the patient or viewer is asked to guess what they see in the ink blot (the psychologist asks the patient).

These ink blot images, used in the Rorschach test, is a projective test. And in pop culture and movies, this test is often used in scenarios where the patient or viewer is asked to guess what they see in the ink blot (the psychologist asks the patient).
The idea was to mimic the Rorschach test images and manipulate some videos that I filmed for the project, in real time using a midi-keyboard.
From an audience standpoint, I manipulate the videos in front of them so its kind of like giving them the whole picture and then manipulating it. This way the audience will still be able to keep in mind certain elements that they originally before I start the manipulation live.

USING MIDI
The main part of my performance, was using the midi, I put stickers to remember different keys and effects I want. Also midi was the perfect thing to use, since I didn't know something like interactive was possible by simply using a tool like midi. So it helped me understand the whore procedure of interactive art better. Check out midi use in the live performance:

COLOR AND OTHER ELEMENTS
I tried to make use of negative and positive spacing. After I converted my videos filmed from color to black and white. Keeping it black and white, is removing another element that might confuse the viewer, and I wanted to direct the whole idea of the video without color making it more complicated for the eye.
