For some primary research I decided to contact James Maher! Maher is a well known street photographer who over the years has worked on his business photographing the people of New York and manufacturing and creating photobooks, but, when he was younger he was actually studying maths and computer science! He was lost and didn't know what career path he wanted to go down. Eventually, as he tells me below, he began to make fake ID's on programmes such as photoshop and even when he stopped making them he continued to use photoshop and develop his skills. Eventually, he decided to buy a camera and learn the skill of photography, in fact he still uses the Canon EF 24-70 F2.8 lens that he brought back then right now! He later studied at the International Centre For Photography and his work only got better and in 2006 he decided to create his own business!

He stated that his main inspiration for photography was the history New York had within it and the people who walk the streets. At first, he went down 5th avenue and would take portraits there and people would watch him but soon he began to frequent more and more places, growing his photography skills.

To this day he still frequently takes photo's but he also has a fully running business, the same one he started 17 years ago! In this business he manufactures photobooks and he runs a portrait business. Personally he has written 3 personal books and designed many magazines and websites for various companies which have all done amazing. He also does a documentary series about New York and has just recently completed a 7 year project on Luxe City! My favourite business he runs however is the street photography workshop business where he teaches people all around the world the joy of photography, he has said he does so he can start "helping photographers from all over the world capture the best of New York."
