Skim-Board Sign Project - John McCarthy's Surf School
I was creating custom skimboards when I came up with the idea to make one of them as a sign for the surf school I work at in Lahinch, County Clare. It was my first time using an airbrush but the results were good and the school appreciated it. If you're ever in Lahnich and are looking to take some surf lessons, you'll see the sign hanging on the back wall.
The skimboards were made from plywood and shaped by clamping wet wood and letting them dry.
Here, I'm prepping the shaped board for painting
I used an airbrush for the first time. It took awhile to get the proper paint mixtures and airbrush settings but soon I got the hang of it.
Here are the final results!
