Logo design and branding for Sorceress, a new vegan coffee and confections shop opening in the Hudson Valley next year. In addition, the space will host a collection of antiques, art, books, and other oddities, as well as creative community events.
After speaking with owner Holly about her vision for the space and brand, my objectives for Sorceress was to attract a community and customer base by designing custom logos and spot illustrations that evoke curiosity and represent the dreamy, luring, and mystical qualities of the Sorceress archetype.
For the primary logo, I created custom hand-drawn type, framed by Art Nouveau inspired flourishes. Capturing the vitality and lure of the business, and reminiscent of wisps of magic, or the steam rising off a cup of coffee or a warm pastry.
