Portrait of my dog Carmelo
This project is very personal as I try to capture my dog of 14 years, Carmelo, in a painting. Painted with acrylic on canvas, this piece was a lot of fun as I tried to capture both the color and shapes of the shadows of Carmelo.
Originally started as a study of Carmelo's shadows, I transferred it to the canvas using a projector and then proceeded to pain. I started with the darkest shadows capturing the lightest and then proceeded to fill in the rest.
I used a base brown and then proceeded to mix it with black and white acrylic to capture shadows and highlights.
