I had always wanted to take some pictures at the Royal Show so when some friends proposed to head over there on the last day, I said "absolutely!" and picked up my camera. Given I'd had a discussion the night before about gear and how much people rely on it, I decided that for this event, I would challenge myself and shoot everything on my good old trusty canon 400d with the kit lens in an attempt to show that you don't need to spend a lot on the newest and most expensive gear to get nice pictures.
So below are the pictures I took, all of them shot hand-held, with a Canon 400d and the 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens.
I'll let you be the judge of whether I've succeeded or failed :)
