The shortest path between my vision and reality is a pencil and a piece of paper. Nothing else works quite like it. At the start of a new project, I believe blue-sky, broad stroke thinking is the healthiest way to start. Get the mistakes out of the way early. Commit them as cheaply as you can and move on. This is how I like to do that.
