IFF CAGNY Rose and Vanilla Experiences, 2015

The Rose and Vanilla Experiences engaged CAGNY investors with six unique experiences from the IFF product portfolio, showcasing rose fragrances and vanilla flavors.
It was imperative that this event include flavors and fragrance sampling — a tricky proposition at a buffet dinner. A separate lounge space was created inside the ballroom, where investors enjoyed the product experiences without the competing aromas of the dinner. A sheer drape wall not only protected the sensory experiences within, it created a stunning branded focal point, enticing the audience to enter the lounge.
Upon entering the ballroom, attendees were greeted by a massive sheer drape wall at the opposite end. The center was lit in IFF blue and the brand logo, flanked on the left and right by rose pink and vanilla gold. This focal point was a draw for the audience to partake in the product experiences, partially visible behind the barrier.

A cocktail bar served rose- and vanilla-flavored drinks, with three rose experience stations (The Rose Journey) on the left; and three vanilla experience stations (The Vanilla Journey) on the right. The stations featured live sampling, demonstrations, branded videos, and interactive experiences.
It was important to make the baroque colors and design of the ballroom recede to favor IFF's branding and experiences. This was accomplished with colored lighting on white set pieces and lounge furniture, which provided a clean, enticing, and high-end platform for IFF's content and demonstrations.
Creating a separate space for these sensory experiences was essential in the context of a buffet dinner. It also afforded the client brand-exclusivity within the lounge area, as co-sponsors occupied separate booths in the dining area.
