Based around the exploration of materials, this brief called for the design of a delicate structure to support a stone, and an object perfectly formed to the hand.
Five sheets of walnut veneer faced on the outside with aluminium sheet, which extends out to cradle the stone.
The same aluminium sheet is sandwiched between thicker pieces of walnut in the hand sculpture.
The aluminium catches light and creates waves across the sculpture's surface as it's handled.
