Willi Kunz Quick Reference Guide
Type 1 Project, Oklahoma State University
Our final project in Type 1 at Oklahoma State was to create a type-heavy poster in the style of a famous graphic designer. I obviously chose Willi Kunz.

The process for this poster involved several other iterations, none of which had anything to do with Kunz, aside from aping his style. There was an airshow poster which featured a shape that acted as a representation of both the state of Oklahoma and a stealth bomber. I also mocked up a reference guide for readings on architect I.M. Pei in an attempt to stick with the architectural theme of much of Kunz's work.

In the end, I was informed it had to somehow incorporate Kunz thematically as well as stylistically, so here is the final product.

The folding shape represents the learning process we go through as designers. We constantly add new dimension to our work through our studies. The diagonal lines act as a metaphor for the connection between Kunz's writing and that development. They also serve to balance the downward motion of the shape and bottom-left heavy layout of the poster.

This is my first upload to behance and I'm really looking forward to any feedback.
