BeardedEars was our group name. Till this day we don't know why we chose that name.
First we conducted a site visit and identified the users and gain a better understanding on how they commute?
Front View of the Yelahanka 4th Phase Bus Stop
We observed the problems and possibilities with the space.
1. Left Support of the bus stop was damaged.
2. Thick layer of mud on the waiting platform.
3. Roof had cracks which were directly above the seats.
4. Old used fliers on the wall.
5. Broken seats.
6. Unused space because of the mud.
7. Lot of poles and bars.
Next we identified the stakeholders

1. School Children (use the bus stop in the morning 8am and evening 4:30pm.)
2. Society residents behind the bus stop
3. Local Yelahanka commuters
(they do not use the bus stop often as the bus some times does not arrive there.)
4. Vegetable vendors
5. Bus Driver
6. Conductor

Apart from it being a public bus stop it was also used as a school bus stop, so we took that into key consideration, as the school children where interacting with the space the most.

We will be growing creepers(plant) inside the fist. The piece symbolizes nature claiming what is his and no matter how much you ignore it will soon take over.
Even the locals offered to help :)
Fixing the seat with synthetic rope.
We collected the rain water with the bucket and used that to clean the floor.
Thank you nature :)
We removed the thick layer of mud blocking the drain holes which also made more space for standing. We then used the same mud to create a garden bed.
Starting to work on the sculpture.
Why stand when you can swing and wait for the bus.
and now....

ta-da!!!
Thank you.
