Refugees being sent to the neighborhood of Vickery Meadow, in Dallas, TX, are faced with a new world that meets new challenges. Daley Ryan from the I.R.C. (International Rescue Committee) explained a few problems that the refugees and people are faced with on a daily basis. Most people living in Vickery Meadow are not interactive and the community needs improvement. The most troubled group of refugees are between the ages of 17-22. In the new facility, public lounges, soccer fields, and community gardens could help improve that problem. New refugees cannot rent anything because they lack the documentation. Housing will be the biggest part of the facility, helping the refugees get on their feet and not worry about bills. Educations is another major problem needed for refugees in the community. ESL classes and also Sign language classes will be created for the people trying to learn. Childcare facilities will also be available for the people that need a help with a parental supervision. Affordable medical areas will be placed in the facility to care for the injury or ill refugees that can apply or afford for healthcare. Refugees women are in need of a spaces to sell textiles or other objects to make money. Selling stations will be available in the facility to help the women kick-start their business.
