The first is a freelance furniture design. The client wanted a simple yet functional coffee table to go along with his newly built pergola on his backyard deck. This coffee table also doubles as a bench when more seating is needed.

Cedar construction gives this modern furniture a pleasant scent, and creates an earthly outdoor feel. The lines created by the overhead pergola are mimicked by staggering spacers throughout.
Detail: 1 3/4" Lag Bolts pierce the wood in intervals, holding the steel edge banding in place and giving the table a slightly industrial aesthetic.
