Throne of an Industrial Monarch - Modelled Environment

From here the King of the Industrial World reigns

The Throne Room

- Concepted and modelled by Nathan Chisholm, 2010 -

As an assignment, the brief was simply to model an environment, with a few wide criteria. I decided to create a throne room in an industrial-like style, which may fit into the 'steam punk' category. I designed the room from scratch, sketching out the two major perspective views and a plan view (in Photoshop), and modelled in Autodesk Maya to the design, with additional bolts etc. and detail, where logical or to add interest. As it was a modelling assignment, the final renders were still, occlusion render; with no textures or lighting etc. Some details would normally be done as texture if that were not the case.

The door to the throne room. (Yes those decorations on the door are power plugs)
