Colorimeter Application Design

Colorimeter Application Design
Colorimeter is an application from Taylor Technologies concepted to create a better process for technicians and reporting data and gathering data while on the job. It was necessary to understand the process behind what a water technician is testing for on a daily basis and what their routine is like in order to architect and design the application. See the final product below.
Project Deliverables Included:
Wireframes: Jeanne/Lindsey (me)
Designed Prototype: Lindsey Gemmill (me)
Style Guide: Lindsey Gemmill (me)
Wireframes
Initial stakeholder interviews were conducted and then the wireframe development phase began. We went through an agile process with the client where we made continuous improvements to the wireframe as the application evolved and was tested.
Design
Design began with the mindset that the application needed to have a lot of reusable elements and a consistent UI Pattern Library to work from since we wouldn't be designing all of the screens for the client's development team.
Style Guide
A style guide was needed after design was complete to hand off to a team that was not in the United States and had English as a second language. The primary objective in creating the guide was to ensure as much accuracy from design to development without being about to talk to the development team. I wrote the guide as if I were thinking in HTML/CSS and tried to explain most of my content in that terminology which is more universal.
