This map was inspired by antique circular celestial maps that often picked out the constellations as images. The map is annotated with stories. Science, folklore and history collide to give a grand sweeping view of the skies. Our own voices and those from the past always mix to create a broad understanding of place. I'm hoping that I'll have a better idea of the stars next time I look up on a clear night....
The original was created in white ink on blue mountboard with silver leaf gilding.
