Aconitum
Screenprint

The piece is very personal to me but is also meant to be a little abstract since most people outside of my family will not be aware of the significance this work has. The other interpretations are always interesting and I am glad that despite not having a connection to the background story, people can still find this work appealing and interesting to look at!
Aconitum is a print inspired by my old home and the wildflower garden my mother used to have. She was very proud of the monkshood (aconite) flowers that grew there. They were rare enough that she was even in the newspaper for them!
The shape of the piece directly relates to our plot of land. the blue representing our house and the lighter brown our driveway. Looking closely at the left side you can see the pathways through the garden and the plots where the flowers and trees mainly grew. The purple is the monkshood flower.
