濁水海

Zhuóshuǐ river is the largest and longest river of Taiwan.
The project name, Zhuóshuǐ sea, has a metaphoric meaning. In the past, before a dam was built upstream Xiluo township for industrial development needs, the river was much more powerful, especially during the floods of the typhoon season.
Xiluo township inhabitant’s memories tell us that there sometimes was such a huge expanse of water than, observing it from the docks, the landscape was similar to the seaside one. Going back in the time we can find out many other big changes in the river history, caused both by human activity and natural forces.
We can still today observe that the river’s bed changes his path many times per year, too.
These stories offer us different points of view to observe the same element, the Zhuóshuǐ river, whose equilibrium is strictly connected with the past and the future of the region where it flows.
