The purpose of this project was to create a 2' x 3' poster to teach a middle school audience about one important aspect of a periodic table element and get them excited about chemistry.

I chose Palladium, a metal that coats the inside of catalytic converters in car exhaust systems.  It can purify over 900 times its own volume of hydrogen.  It reduces car emissions by also reducing levels of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons released into the atmosphere.

My initial ideas to convey filtering and the volume at which it occurs.

I took my grid idea and added color, texture and context with blues, clouds and photography.
