The Periodic Dining Table

With over two-thirds of American adults considered overweight or obese, I created a project to help people eat more nutritional and balanced meals. The Periodic Dining Table is a 64"x44" poster with a different food item as each element. Instead of the normal divisions of metals, nonmetals, and noble gases, each section represents a different food group - fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins. Therefore, all a user has to do to create a healthy and balanced meal is combine one food from each group and follow the appropriate serving size. Each element box features a low-polygon illustration of the food item and its appropriate serving size. This illustrates how the complexity of eating healthy can be broken down into simple steps, just as the low-poly illustration simplifies the complex shape of the food item.

The full poster measures 64 inches tall and 44 inches wide. It was on display in the University of Southern California Roski School of Art and Design's "Haus Werk" exhibition and the 2017 Annual Student Art Show.
