Silence
Contemporary cultures of distraction are overloaded with various stimuli, though is largely relies on visual stimuli, sound is abundant and contributes to attracting attention and distracting attention. Overall strategies to oversaturate experiences make silence a luxury and sometimes a disconcerting experience. 

The seeming austerity and lack of communication in silence should not be underestimated. The nature of silence is ambivalent. Silence is not an absolute absence of sound or communication, it is rather a container and mediator for the sound and communication to happen. Once perceived as something sacred and essential silence has now became almost extinct and disturbing in contemporary narrative. 

The project interprets both personal and subjective perceptions of the phenomenon based on the feedback from more than twenty volunteers.
